The test doesn’t work in hot beverages, such as coffee and tea, due to the high temperature of the liquid.

The technology screens for the most common date rape drugs, including Flunitrazepam (“Roofies”), Alprazolam (Xanax) and Diazepam (Valium), as well as Midazolam (Versed), Oxazepam (Serax), and Temazepam (Restoril). We’re continuing to evolve our science and will update this list as new drugs are added to the test.

The test can detect as little as 1/4 of the minimum dose of the common date rape drugs. It’s by far the most sensitive test for detecting date rape drugs in beverages!

It doesn’t matter if the two lines in the results window are different shades of pink as the intensity of the color can vary based on the liquids being tested.

To provide quality assurance, we routinely test our products in-house as well as through a third-party lab. More than 12,000 medallions in a variety of conditions have been performed, with over a thousand of those tests conducted by third party independent laboratory. To date, testing has achieved a 99.3% accuracy rate, which significantly outperforms any other date rape drink test on the market.

You do not need a holder as our test is small enough to fit in your pocket, but we created them as an easy way to attach the test to items you typically carry with you--keys and phones! It can be a great deterrent and conversation starter.

Currently, our tests are sold only through this website for shipment inside the United States. We offer three different kit options which include 3, 5 or 10 tests.

Our test works in more than 100 alcoholic and non-alcohol beverages including beer, wine, liquor, soda, juice, milk/cream, tonic, and water.

Our science is one of the many tools that can help reduce the risk of drug-facilitated assault and only you can know if, and when, it feels right to use it. Here are a

few tips from RAINN on how to increase your safety in situations where drinking might be involved:

• Know what you’re drinking

• Don’t leave your drink unattended

• Don’t accept drinks from people you don’t know

• Know what you’re drinking

• Don’t leave your drink unattended
• Don’t accept drinks from people you don’t know

Our test is easy to use. Please visit “How it Works” for step-by-step instructions, or refer to the “Instructions for Use” included with your purchase.

Results will appear in as little as 30 seconds but depending on conditions could take a couple of minutes.

If two lines show up in the results window, SipChip™ did not detect any of the common date rape drugs for which it screens. It’s important to note that a “good” result most likely indicates a drug-free beverage, but this result can be obtained if the drug is below the cutoff level or, in an unlikely event, if it’s a drug for which the test does not yet detect.

Our test is here to inform you. A “good” result indicates that the most commonly used date rape drugs are not present in your beverage. While our test has achieved good accuracy rates during testing, there are some variables that could affect the test. Therefore, if you have a feeling that your drink has been tampered with, even after testing it and receiving a “good” result, we recommend trusting your instincts and discarding the beverage.

If a single line shows up on your test that means your drink contains at least one date rape drug. Immediately stop drinking your drink, discard the drink and seek out a friend or someone you trust, so you are not alone. You may also wish to seek medical attention.

If no lines appear, the test may be invalid, or you may not have applied enough liquid. Apply additional liquid to the sample port. If no lines develop and/or are incomplete, the result is invalid. Review the procedure and repeat the test with a new test or discard the beverage.

We always recommend trusting your instincts and knowing the warning signs. According to RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization, common symptoms of drugging include nausea, difficulty breathing, feeling drunk when you haven’t had any alcohol or a very little amount, loss of bladder or bowel control, sudden body temperature change, disorientation, dizziness or blurred vision, waking up with no memory or missing large fragments of memory. If you experience any of these, we recommend seeking medical attention.

No. Each test is for one-time use only and should be discarded after use.

Store as packaged in the sealed foil pouch in a cool dry space 36-86 degrees Fahrenheit until ready for use. When removed from the foil pouch, do not puncture or remove the protective peel off layer until you’re ready to test the beverage.

The shelf life of the test is two years from the date of manufacture when sealed in the foil pouch. Once removed from the pouch, the shelf life is 90 days. Do not use after the expiration date.

If you or anyone you know is a victim of sexual violence and needs support, please have them contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 800.656.HOPE (4673) or visit RAINN.org.
